Watch repair pouch - 12 tools. Designed for watchmakers and home repair of mechanical, automatic and quartz watches.
The tool roll for watch repair - 12 tools packs every essential into a single compact textile pouch so you can carry out the most common watchmaking operations yourself: replacing a battery, fitting a new case-back gasket, resizing a metal bracelet, opening a screw-down or snap-back case. Designed for the keen home enthusiast and the apprentice watchmaker alike, this kit spares you the cost of buying each tool separately and keeps your instruments tidy, clean and ready to hand.
Every piece has been chosen to cover the essential interventions on a mechanical, automatic or quartz watch. The roll contains:
The roll lets you carry out at home or in the workshop most of the jobs a watchmaker would charge for over the counter: swapping a button cell (SR621SW, SR626SW, CR2032 etc.), fitting a new O-ring case-back gasket after dismantling, shortening a metal bracelet by removing pinned links, opening a screw-down case-back to reach the movement, or simply cleaning the case after removing the crown. The tools also come in handy on spectacle frames, certain smartphones and any other small device held together by fine screws.
The screw pin pusher sits over the bracelet link with the arrow pointing down; you turn the thumbwheel to drive the pin out. The three-prong opener is adjusted to the notches on the case-back, inserted firmly, then turned anti-clockwise. The precision screwdriver must be held perpendicular to the screw and never forced. The anti-static tweezers are reserved for movement parts and a new gasket, never for the easily scratched outer case.
The tools in this roll are made of hardened steel or technical plastic depending on their function. They are designed to withstand regular home use. For intensive professional work we recommend complementing them with a case-back press and a binocular microscope.
Is this roll suitable for waterproof watches? Yes, the three-prong tool is specifically designed for the screw-down case-backs of waterproof watches. After every intervention remember to replace the O-ring case-back gasket and test the water resistance.
Can it be used on Apple Watch or other smartwatches? For screw-fixed models, yes (precision screwdrivers). For glued or pressed-on backs, dedicated tooling is needed.
Do I need a lubricant as well? Yes; when fitting a new gasket we recommend a horological silicone gasket grease (Moebius 8217 type) to preserve the elasticity of the new O-ring.
